Anti-Wrinkle Treatment

Mimic lines, forehead lines, smile lines begone! Get a younger and well-rested appearance with anti-wrinkle injections.

As we age, fine lines, wrinkles, and expression lines can make us look older than we feel. For those who spend long hours at a desk looking at a screen, deep lines between the eyebrows can create an unhappy and tired appearance. Injectable wrinkle treatments have become a popular non-surgical anti-aging method for many women and men seeking to rejuvenate their appearance.

How does anti-wrinkle treatment work?

When we make facial expressions, the lines on our face are called dynamic wrinkles. Over time, these dynamic wrinkles can deepen and become static wrinkles.

Anti-wrinkle injectables aim to prevent the formation of static wrinkles by interrupting the communication between nerves and muscles, temporarily relaxing facial muscles, and softening and reducing the appearance of frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead wrinkles. Anti-wrinkle injections may also be used for a non-surgical brow lift.

These injections give the skin a distinct glow as they dilate the vessels and increase blood flow.

Anti-Wrinkle Treatment

Anti-wrinkle injections can be administered as early as the 20s to minimize wrinkles. They can also be combined with other non-surgical cosmetic procedures, fillers, or surgical procedures such as eyelid lifts or facelifts.

It is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women to receive anti-wrinkle injections.

How are anti-wrinkle injections administered?

The procedure takes approximately 15 minutes and requires no downtime. A small amount of the injectable solution is administered via a fine needle directly into the target area.

There may be some mild side effects, such as swelling, tenderness, or bruising at the injection site, but these injections are generally very well tolerated.

Patients can resume their regular activities immediately after the procedure, but it is advised to avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol for at least 24 hours.

Do’s and don’ts after getting anti-wrinkle injections

  • To avoid spreading the injectable solution to unintended areas, patients should avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for several hours after the procedure.
  • It is necessary to avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours, strenuous activity, and lying in a prone position for a few days.
  • Pools and saunas should not be used during this time.

How long do anti-wrinkle injections last?

Results of the application are typically visible within 5-7 days, and the effects last for 3-12 months, depending on the area of treatment.

Although anti-wrinkle injections may seem like a simple procedure, patients should only turn to experienced plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and specialists in their field for this treatment.
